ISU World Figure Skating Championships - 2013

We are proud to have been selected by Skate Canada as the official supplier to the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2013 in London, Ontario.
Affair Tent & Event Rentals, in partnership with engineering firm WEAL Consulting, delivered a custom concrete ballast weight and flooring system solution to ensure the tents were safe and secure in the cold and windy weather conditions. Special engineering considerations concerning weight load per square foot had to be given to installing these tents over top of an underground parking garage.
Heating was provided by LM Temperature Control to ensure the tent interiors were cozy and warm, despite the frigid temperatures outside.
Our phenomenal Dura Trac flooring system was used to assist in distributing the tremendous weights involved in this project (more than 130,000lbs of concrete alone was used to ballast the clear span tents). The flooring system, which is 3” thick, also provided a thermal break from the cold, wet concrete, ensuring that all in attendance were warm and comfortable right down to the bottom of their feet.
The result – a world class temporary event venue appropriate to the stature of this world class event. Rave reviews from the organizers and attendees alike confirm that the right Special Event Rental Supplier was chosen for the job.
