Mississauga Tent Rental - Mastercard Memorial Cup 2011

When the Mastercard Memorial Cup came to town, a world class event venue was needed for the thousands of athletes and hockey fans travelling from all over the country to take part in the action.
We at Affair Tent & Event Rentals were pleased to have been awarded the contract and Official Supplier status for the event.
The challenge organizers presented was a desire to provide 34 (thirty four) identically sized 225 square foot (15’x15’) “Chalet Style” tents for a VIP “Tent Village”, with each tent covering upscale lounge furniture and a big screen flat panel television. All 34 “VIP Chalets” were custom fabricated, to ensure consistency and the highest product quality.
In addition to the tents and an extensive array of additional rental items, the organizers required an all-weather flooring system on which the entire 15,000 square foot Tent Village was to be located. This included each tent and all exterior common walkway areas.
Luckily, our high-performance Dura-Trac flooring system provided the ideal solution, keeping the the grass area underneath from getting trampled/muddy and providing a slip-resistant, washable surface ideal for multi-day, high-traffic events. As chance would have it, it rained virtually every day of the 10 (ten) day event and the organizer repeatedly expressed their relief in having chosen us as the supplier. Many of the other flooring systems that were considered from other suppliers were very thin plastic, which would have been submerged in mud within a few days.
The lesson – taking the time to consider all possible weather scenarios is a key element in planning any event. Choosing products that are capable of handling even the “worst case weather scenario” is key to consistently high-end results.
